Family's joy as daughter is chosen for US campaign
Briefly

Violet, a two-year-old from Chelmsford with Down's syndrome, will have her photo broadcast at Times Square on 6 September. The image is part of a 500-image slideshow organized by the National Down Syndrome Society (NDSS) to improve visibility of the condition. Violet was selected from more than 2,600 entries submitted from 11 countries. Her mother, Rebecca, said she felt ecstatic and hopes the appearance will promote understanding and show that having a child with Down's syndrome can be a joy. The family plans to watch the hour-long event via a Facebook livestream at 14:30 BST.
It's all about promoting understanding and trying to educate everyone that having a child with Down's syndrome is not the end of the world, it's actually a real joy,
It was amazing, I just couldn't wait to tell everybody,
She's not had the greatest start in life, so it's going to be amazing to see her up there.
Hopefully one day we'll take her and show her where she was.
