Churchfields Junior School in South Woodford has been awarded the long term excellence award at Transport for London's Travel for Life Top Schools Award for its commitment to reducing parental car drop-offs. Supported by Redbridge Council, the school has encouraged students to walk, cycle, or scoot, achieving 98% participation by 2024. Deputy head James Easter highlighted the collaborative effort in fostering safer streets. The school has also installed enforcement cameras to discourage problematic parking and has been a TfL gold standard school since 2016, improving local air quality significantly.
