Google Password Manager finally syncs to iOS-here's how
Briefly

The article discusses significant improvements to passkey usability across platforms, highlighting how Google Password Manager (GPM) now allows users to sync passkeys seamlessly in Chrome. Previously, users faced issues with passkeys being locked to individual platform ecosystems, like iCloud for iPhone or Google accounts on other devices. With the latest update, passkeys can be created in standalone apps on iOS and sync smoothly through GPM, eliminating prior headaches and enhancing accessibility, all secured by end-to-end encryption as per FIDO specifications.
Late last year, I published a long post that criticized the user unfriendliness of passkeys, the industry-wide alternative to logging in with passwords.
The headache is finally over. Chrome on all platforms now uses the Google Password Manager, a tool built into Chrome, to seamlessly sync keys.
GPM allows me to log in to passkey-protected accounts not just in Chrome, but also in standalone iOS apps such as those from Kayak, eBay, or LinkedIn.
These passkeys are synced using end-to-end encryption, as mandated by the FIDO specification, which is maintained by the FIDO Alliance.
