EFF launched an audio edition of EFFector in June 2025 to deliver weekly recaps and exclusive interviews on digital-rights news. The audio edition features EFF lawyers, activists, and technologists explaining privacy, free-speech, and innovation issues. EFF detailed a Trump administration surveillance program that monitors social media activity of millions of noncitizens and can punish disfavored expression; EFF is suing to stop that program. EFF also examined Automated License Plate Readers (ALPRs), camera networks that photograph every passing vehicle, upload location data to central databases, and enable law enforcement to reconstruct driver movements often without judicial approval.
