Donnelly accused the vaping industry of cynically marketing to children through appealing flavors and colorful packaging, stating, "These companies are very cynically targeting children. There's over 15,000 flavours..."
Taoiseach Simon Harris confirmed the focus on child protection, noting that the legislation includes bans on single-use vapes, addressing both environmental littering and health concerns.
The proposed regulations will prohibit flavored vapes, starting with one flavor, and will include restrictions on packaging colors and marketing strategies to deter youth exposure.
