"Sadly, due to the severe medical injuries resulting in extreme suffering, this dog, an alleged victim of cruelty, was humanely euthanized to end existing and ongoing pain," stated Alyssa Flek, a representative for the ASPCA.
"[He] had to go home for the day," an anonymous employee said regarding Caretaker Jay, who was deeply affected after rescuing the puppy from the trash chute.
The police reported that the poor animal's entangled fur evidenced a history of neglect prior to being thrown down the chute, indicating prior mistreatment.
