TDs and Senators sue state over 'unfair' PRSI charge
Briefly

Gerard Craughwell, an independent senator, has been vocally opposing the Class K PRSI designation, asserting, "I will look after myself. It is my job to look after myself...I will fight for any worker in this country who is being denied something they are entitled to." His arguments highlight the need for fair treatment of all workers in Ireland, including politicians.
One of the politicians involved in the High Court action remarked that they are addressing a "an anomaly in the system" regarding Class K PRSI contributions, pointing out the unique situation whereby they contribute a significant percentage of their salary while not receiving the corresponding social insurance benefits.
