Strong End-to-End Encryption Comes to Discord Calls
Briefly

Discord's upcoming end-to-end encryption for voice and video chats, dubbed 'DAVE', enhances user privacy and aligns features with platforms like Zoom, standing out from Slack and Teams.
By implementing end-to-end encryption, Discord is taking a significant step toward user protection. While voices and videos will be encrypted, text messages will not, distinguishing its setup from typical chat apps.
Users will see a green lock icon during encrypted calls, which signifies that the communication is secure. A 'Voice Privacy Code' can also be shared to ensure no tampering is present.
The ability to set persistent verification keys makes it easier for users to confirm security without the need to re-verify each time a call is initiated from different devices.
