The Minister for Health, Stephen Donnelly, has asked the Attorney General to reassess the legal advice given regarding the Drogheda Review report on abuse in Co Louth.
Donnelly is eager for the report to be published, if possible, following recent testimonials from victims that led to renewed scrutiny of Shine's actions.
This inquiry has gained significant attention as four men have come forward, detailing their harrowing experiences of abuse by Shine, prompting discussions on further inquiry.
The Taoiseach, Simon Harris, stated that the Government will reflect on the calls for a public inquiry into the serious allegations against the prolific abuser.
