Dennis Fountaine, a 67-year-old scam artist, is now a fugitive after failing to attend his sentencing for a fraudulent investment scheme where he defrauded four victims out of $350,000.
Prosecutors describe Fountaine's modus operandi: creating fake companies and websites to solicit loans from investors, leading to multiple civil judgments against him for fraud in California and Florida.
DA Jeff Rosen emphasized the need to track down Fountaine, stating, 'The man pretended he was an inventor, but he won't be able to pretend for long that he's not a wanted fugitive.'
Fountaine's schemes include a fictitious medical robot named Homer, designed to dispense medications for patients, and his past involved a company with a misleading promise about 'Face Replacement Technology.'
