S. Korea and US hold joint drills with eye on N. Korea DW 08/20/2024
Briefly

The annual Ulchi Freedom Shield military drills, running until August 29, aim to enhance South Korean and US joint readiness against the threats posed by North Korea.
These exercises will reflect realistic threats across all domains, including cyber attacks, GPS jamming, and the threat of North Korean missiles, enhancing deterrence capabilities.
Over 200 South Korean and US fighter jets will participate in this drill spanning land, sea, air, and adding focus on cyber and space domains.
North Korea routinely condemns these drills, labeling them as provocations that escalate tensions and assert they are rehearsals for nuclear warfare.
