Briefly

Three months of planned weekend strikes by train drivers have been successfully called off following constructive negotiations between the Aslef union and LNER, allowing services to resume normally.
Mick Whelan, general secretary of Aslef, emphasized the significance of negotiation in resolving conflicts in the railway sector, stating, 'By sitting round the table and negotiating, issues on the railway can be resolved in a way that means better workplace practices for rail workers.'
Whelan also highlighted the ongoing commitment of Aslef to advocate for a fully staffed railway, saying, 'We continue to operate in good faith and we are pleased to have finally resolved this long-standing issue with LNER of abuse of our agreements.'
