Letters: Pleasanton schools
Briefly

"As an animal advocate who worked to pass Proposition 12 in 2018, I am deeply concerned about efforts to overturn it through the Farm Bill. Proposition 12 establishes basic animal welfare standards for farm animals, prohibiting the production and sale of products in California that involve extreme confinement of mother pigs, egg-laying chickens, and calves used for veal. The U.S. Supreme Court upheld its constitutionality last year, but special interests in the pork industry are trying to nullify it."
"Since the time my now-fifth grader was in TK, I repeatedly heard the name Jen Flynn in almost every conversation about who will do what's needed. Jen is a mother of three, a former PTA president, on the superintendent's Budget Committee, and on the Pleasanton Partnerships in Education board. Her style is compassionate, transparent and humble, and we are lucky to have such a capable candidate to replace the greatly respected Trustee Steve Maher on our school board."
