Jewels stolen in Germany's Green Vault heist back on display | amNewYork
Briefly

Nearly five years after a major heist in Dresden, most of the stolen jewellery, valued at over 113 million euros, is back on display, albeit damaged.
Museum director Marion Ackermann notes that the visible damage to the recovered pieces is minor, stating, "with the naked eye we can actually barely see the damage."
The heist served as a major wake-up call for museum security, as Saxony premier Michael Kretschmer remarked, "We were shocked that it was actually possible to steal from us."
The stolen collection, assembled in the 18th century by Augustus the Strong, reflects the historical importance and allure of the jewellery within the museum.
