FBI seizes pro-Iranian hacking group's websites after destructive Stryker hack | TechCrunch
"Law enforcement authorities determined this domain was used to conduct, facilitate, or support malicious cyber activities on behalf of, or in coordination with, a foreign state actor. The United States Government has taken control of this domain to disrupt ongoing malicious cyber operations and prevent further exploitation."
"This act of digital aggression only serves to highlight the fear and anxiety our actions have instilled in the hearts of those who oppress and deceive. Although they attempt to erase the evidence and hide their crimes through censorship and intimidation, their actions only confirm the impact of our mission."
The FBI and Justice Department took down two websites associated with Handala, a pro-Iranian hacktivist group responsible for a recent cyberattack on medical technology company Stryker. One website was used to publicize the group's hacks, while the other was employed to dox dozens of individuals allegedly connected to Israeli military and defense organizations including Elbit Systems and NSO Group. The seizure banners indicated U.S. authorities determined the domains facilitated malicious cyber activities on behalf of a foreign state actor. Handala responded via Telegram, characterizing the seizures as censorship and asserting their mission would continue despite the takedown.
