This move aims to make discussions in 'The-Armoury' channel more welcoming and reduce conflicts over weapon stats. Community manager Katherine 'Baskinator' Baskin emphasized that excessive reliance on datamined information has led to petty arguments, detracting from casual discussions about gameplay. Despite this policy being in place for other channels, 'The-Armoury' had been a haven for such debates, prompting the need for this change as the Galactic War resumes.
The constant reliance and pushing of datamined infodumps is alienating to people who just want to chat about weapons without it spiraling into an argument about datapoints.
This rule has been in effect in every other channel in the server. This one has gotten away with circumventing it for a long time because we have earnestly tried to support these efforts.
