In the indictment, federal prosecutors noted that Combs was able to pull off his acts in large part due to the power, money, and influence he had accumulated. 'Combs relied on the employees, resources, and influence of the multi-faceted business empire that he led and controlled - creating a criminal enterprise whose members and associates engaged in, and attempted to engage in, among other crimes, sex trafficking, forced labor, kidnapping, arson, bribery, and obstruction of justice,' the 14-page indictment says.
Sean Combs has been indicted with serious charges including racketeering conspiracy and sex trafficking, following a monthslong federal investigation that aligns with past abuse allegations against him from former partners.
'We are disappointed with the decision to pursue what we believe is an unjust prosecution of Mr. Combs by the US Attorney's Office,' Marc Agnifilo, Combs' lawyer, said in a statement. 'These are the acts of an innocent man with nothing to hide, and he looks forward to clearing his name in court.'
