Developer of Lockbit ransomware gets extradited to the United States | TechCrunch
Briefly

Rostislav Panev, a 51-year-old dual Russian-Israeli national, has been extradited from Israel to the United States on charges related to his role as a developer for the LockBit ransomware gang. Arrested in December, he became the third individual linked to LockBit, accused of creating malware and managing the gang's infrastructure since its inception in 2019. The US Department of Justice emphasizes its commitment to pursuing ransomware conspirators, with U.S. Attorney John Giordano asserting that justice will be served for those involved.
"If you are a member of the LockBit ransomware conspiracy, the United States will find you and bring you to justice," said United States Attorney John Giordano.
Prosecutors allege Panev was a developer working for the LockBit ransomware group from its beginnings in 2019 and until at least February 2024.
