The child was treated at the scene by paramedics before being taken to Cork University Hospital and later transferred to Dublin for specialist care. Her condition remains serious but stable.
Gardaí sealed off the scene in north Cork for forensic examination after being alerted to a disturbance at around 11:30pm. Significant damage was found at the property and vehicle.
Detectives are investigating a reported assault and other criminal damage incidents. Local residents are cooperating with statements about the events surrounding the incident.
Charleville gardaí have urged anyone who witnessed the incident or has any video footage from that night to assist in the investigation.
