The Department for Work and Pensions revealed, through a freedom of information request, that even though the government claimed there was no major impact analysis, internal analysis shows a significant financial loss for older disabled citizens.
James Taylor from Scope emphasized that the decision on winter fuel payments will exacerbate the struggles of older disabled individuals, notably due to higher expenses related to electricity and heating.
The internal DWP analysis implies that a vast majority of pensioners will not only lose financial support, but those with existing vulnerabilities will face increased hardships as a result.
