Cathay Pacific Airways has identified 15 Airbus A350 aircraft needing component replacements due to a failed Rolls-Royce engine, impacting 34 return flights.
The airline expects all affected A350s to resume flying by Saturday after inspecting its fleet of 48 Rolls-Royce-powered aircraft, with three already repaired.
Shares of Rolls-Royce fell 6.5% on Monday after the incident, reflecting investor concern, but partially recovered by Tuesday, rising 4.5%.
Despite the incident, other operators of the A350-1000, including Qatar Airways and British Airways, continued normal operations on their fleets.
