Police in Cambridge have discovered a card skimmer on a payment terminal, urging vigilance from the public as similar devices have been found across Massachusetts.
'If you have recently conducted business in that area, please be aware that your credit or debit card information may have been compromised...monitor your bank statements for unauthorized transactions,' a police spokesperson advised.
Skimmers are designed to be difficult to detect, often blending in with legitimate card readers and are installed covertly to steal personal data from unsuspecting users.
