'Attacks on Gardai are completely unacceptable' - how body worn cameras will help members in the line of duty
Briefly

"I am very pleased we are now extending the pilot phase to the third and final location to Waterford," said Minister McEntee at the launch in Waterford Garda Station today. This reflects strategic planning to evaluate the effectiveness of body worn cameras in various policing environments across Ireland.
"We have already seen the impact of body worn cameras on policing operations in Dublin and Limerick. Gardaí equipped with the cameras have been able to capture footage of searches of dwellings which uncovered drugs and assist in the de-escalation of tensions during protests and incidents of disruption." This highlights the practical benefits of having such technology in place for law enforcement.
