Prime Minister Edi Rama announced plans for a sovereign state for the Shia Sufi Bektashi Order in Albania, aiming for a new center of moderation and peace.
Rama stated, "Our inspiration is to support the transformation of the Bektashi World Center in Tirana into a sovereign state, a new center of moderation, tolerance and peaceful coexistence."
The leader of the Bektashi Order, Baba Mondi, described the initiative as "extraordinary," believing it will usher in a new era for religious tolerance and peace promotion.
The Bektashi Order will gain Vatican-like sovereignty with autonomy over religious and administrative matters, enhancing its mission of peace and harmony.
