Afghan family refused UK visas to join son, 13, evacuated from Kabul
Briefly

Ahmad's family submitted their visa application in February 2023, hoping to reunite after Ahmad's evacuation to the UK during Operation Pitting in 2021. Yet, the Home Office rejected their yearnings. The refusal claimed it didn't breach their family life rights, asserting that Ahmad, now 13, wasn't a valid sponsor since he was a beneficiary of the Afghan citizens resettlement scheme. Despite their claims of danger, the Home Office deemed them at no exceptional risk.
Ahmad's father stated, 'My life is in danger because I worked with foreign forces. The decision from the Home Office made us very upset. We felt that we had the right this country would allow us to reunite with our child. It's been for the past three years that we are missing one member of our family and his place is empty in our life, and that is our son.'
