Antonella Wilby testified that OceanGate used a cumbersome manual process for tracking the Titan submersible's position, involving notebooks and Excel, leading to dangers in navigation.
Speaking on the inefficiencies, Wilby stated, 'There were delays because there was this manual process of first writing down the lat-long coordinates and then typing them in.'
She expressed her frustration, admitting she called the navigation system 'idiotic,' stating, 'But I do stand by that. It was. It just - the whole system was absolutely idiotic.'
Wilby's concerns about the tracking method were not well-received, as she noted, 'But that, of course, wasn't received well after the dive.'
