780,000 eligible pensioners to lose out on fuel payment - DWP
Briefly

The analysis suggests that around 780,000 pensioners in England and Wales will lose their winter fuel allowance, as they are unlikely to apply for benefits they are entitled to.
The government acknowledges that while over a million pensioners will still receive the winter fuel payment, they anticipate that hundreds of thousands of eligible individuals will miss out on pension credit.
The equalities analyses indicated that a staggering nine in ten pensioners aged 66 to 79 and eight in ten over 80s will lose their winter fuel allowance due to not claiming pension credit.
According to the analysis, although disabled individuals are more likely to keep the payment, around 71% of them are still expected to lose their winter fuel allowance.
