One-of-a-kind Bay Area food destination saved by community support
Briefly

Mitote Food Park in Sonoma County has become a vibrant outdoor dining destination dedicated to Mexican cuisine, showcasing food trucks and a lively atmosphere. After relocating due to construction, the park reopened swiftly, thanks to community support including petitions and pro bono work. Owner Octavio Diaz emphasized the significance of community in achieving this rapid transition. Established during the pandemic, it offered a safe dining space while promoting local food entrepreneurs. The mix of English and Spanish reflects its inclusive spirit, enhancing the dining experience.

Diaz, who also owns Agave Restaurant in Healdsburg and Agave Uptown in Oakland, founded Mitote Food Park in May 2020, just after the pandemic shut down indoor dining.
