Just before Coachella, a classic Indio watering hole returns
""It was a dream that I never knew was a possibility," F10 founder Tara Lazar told SFGATE. "I love these institutions, these watering holes of the desert. The Tack Room truly has so much goodwill and a great reputation.""
"According to Lazar, the Tack Room closed last year because its former operator, Levy Restaurants, "wasn't interested in continuing with the property.""
"F10 updated the cocktail menu and wine selection. Although the team also refined the food menu to include dishes like devils on horseback."
""We had about four and a half days between getting possession and reopening the place, but it looks really cute," Lazar said."
The Tack Room Tavern, a long-standing restaurant at the Empire Polo Club, closed last April after 38 years. F10 Hospitality has taken over the lease and reopened the restaurant in January. Founder Tara Lazar expressed excitement about revitalizing the space, which has a strong reputation. Minimal updates were made, preserving equine-themed decor. The cocktail and food menus were refined, introducing new dishes while maintaining the venue's charm for festivalgoers.
