An Alaska Airlines flight bound for Las Vegas made an emergency landing in Portland after a strong odor was detected in the cockpit. The Boeing 737-800, which took off at approximately 9:50 a.m., was quickly brought back to Portland International Airport, where fire crews assisted in evacuating passengers. Although nine individuals requested medical evaluations, no serious injuries were reported. The aircraft, a 14-year-old model, was subsequently inspected by Alaska Airlines' maintenance team. The cause of the odor remains unclear, and the airline apologized for the inconvenience.
