Berlu Bakery, known for its gluten- and dairy-free Vietnamese sweets, is preparing to reopen this spring. To celebrate the Lunar New Year, chef Vince Nguyen will host a pop-up event at Best Friend's cafe, featuring a variety of popular desserts including bánh bò nướng in unique flavors, and a selection of traditional holiday items. This event is not only about the treats but also about reconnecting with the community and welcoming new faces to experience traditional Southeast Asian sweets.
Nguyen highlights, "The Lunar New Year has always been a fun time at the bakery, as we often see many new faces, so it's fun to be part of their introduction to Southeast Asian not-too-sweets and traditional Tết dishes."
Nguyen mentions the importance of community, stating, "I'm most excited to reunite with staff and see friends that have supported us over the years."
