On March 7, a salvage crew recovered a submerged car from the Columbia River, believed to be connected to the 1958 Martin Family missing persons case. Overseen by Hood River Sheriff's Office, the retrieval took two days, involving divers and the construction crew of Advanced American Construction. The vehicle, encased in rock and debris, was found at a depth of approximately 50 feet. The lengthy submersion caused the chassis to detach, but crews successfully retrieved both the chassis and engine, marking a significant development in a 66-year-old case.
The salvage crew, overseen by the Hood River Sheriff's Office, successfully retrieved a potential key piece of evidence in the long-standing Martin Family missing persons case.
