Recently, Ladbrokes announced they would settle the bets while the investigation continues, indicating they are working with the IHRB to find a resolution. The nature of the investigation remains confidential, leaving Phelan and Queally uncertain about the terms being examined.
Mr Phelan believed he had won a life-changing payout of €319,440, but 12 months after he placed the bet he had yet to receive any payment.
We have now discussed this matter with the Irish Horseracing Regulatory Board (IHRB) in order to seek a resolution as quickly as possible.
