""a title founders give themselves so they can still hang around he office and undermine their successor for a few years,""
""reflect on why no one actually wants to talk to me.""
""It's no secret that video podcasts have significantly disrupted the podcast industry,""
"As par of larger research, Edison asked survey participants "Do you ever listen to...?" - with two choices: audio-only podcasts, and podcasts with video that the respondent actively watches."
Andrew Mason has become Executive Chairman of Descript while Laura Burkhauser has been promoted to CEO. Burkhauser previously served as VP of Product and held Director of Product Management roles at Twitter and Rent The Runway, and has experience at Amazon and The Bridgespan Group. Mason will not make decisions but will act as a sounding board, provide continuity, and remain present in the company. Edison Research presented research at Podcast Movement showing that video podcasts have disrupted the industry and that longer-term listeners tend to favor audio-only, with only modest variances.
