In a recent episode of the 'Pod Meets World' podcast, Danielle Fishel candidly discussed her challenging experience filming 'Girl Meets World,' the Disney Channel spinoff of 'Boy Meets World.' During a heated exchange with co-star Maitland Ward, who accused Fishel of ignoring her on set, Fishel revealed feelings of ostracism and criticism. She stated the work environment was tumultuous and markedly less enjoyable than her previous experiences, indicating significant personal struggles while filming the series from 2014 to 2017.
It was a very, very difficult set. Let's put it this way, the memories we have of the fun set of 'Boy Meets World' were not the memories of the fun set of 'Girl Meets World.' It just wasn't.
I went into it hoping it was going to be, and it just wasn't. It was a rather tumultuous place. I felt very ostracized. I felt very criticized.
That was not the set of Danielle being carefree and running around shaking hands and kissing babies.
You did not speak to meet on the set of 'Girl Meets World,' except for, 'Hi,' That's it. I have no pictures with you on that set.
