Pittsburgh has seriously missed these two defenders in the middle of the defense. Roberts has been out with a pectoral injury while Fitzpatrick has been dealing with a knee.
In Fitzpatrick's absence, practice squad safety Eric Rowe has been in the starting lineup and played pretty well. The Steelers also moved cornerback Patrick Peterson to the other safety spot with Keanu Neal on IR. Roberts was just the last of multiple injuries to starting inside linebackers. The Steelers brought back Myles Jack after he unretired and he's been the team's primary inside linebacker for the past two weeks.
