The Picklesburgh festival, celebrating its 10th anniversary, attracted over 200,000 attendees this year. The event, stemming from a simple idea in 2015, showcases Pittsburgh's rich Heinz heritage and vibrant Eastern European community. Organizers expanded its footprint for the largest layout yet, encompassing downtown and two of the Sister Bridges. Guests enjoyed various competitions and a wide range of pickle-inspired foods. The atmosphere was lively, filled with lines for food stands, whimsical attractions like a mechanical pickle, and playful engagement from the emcee at the events.
The emcee of the pickle brine drinking contest greeted attendees with, "Welcome to Pittsburgh, you jagoffs!" highlighting the playful, local atmosphere of Picklesburgh.
