In the Arts District of Los Angeles, a group of friends discovered a new high-angle photo booth called Genic, which has quickly attracted a following since its installation at Idyllic cafe. After capturing playful poses and selecting favorites, they celebrated their photos. The booth, created by recent UCLA graduates M.J. and Ryan Kim, has taken nearly 1,000 photos since late February. With roots dating back to the first photo booth in 1925, these modern variations remain a favorite for social gatherings in the city.
This was very cute,” says Eugenia Bulah, 41.
Genic founders M.J. and Ryan Kim said that since they installed the booth at Idyllic cafe in late February, it has captured nearly 1,000 photos.
Throughout the rest of the afternoon, dozens of other stylish people in the bustling cafe flicked up with their friends and significant others in the Genic photo booth.
Invented by Anatol Josepho, the first photo booth made its debut in New York City in 1925.
