The YD x KeyShot 2025 Photorealism Challenge: Here are your Winners - Yanko Design
Briefly

The YD x KeyShot competition concluded with three winners recognized for their exceptional photorealistic image renders. Competitors showcased their skills to create images that mimic product photography, leveraging KeyShot 2025's advanced features. Notable winners included Spencer Livingstone (Gold), Ratan Pande (Silver), and Jay Bhosale (Bronze), with special mentions for Spitsyna Yelyzaveta and Tyson Karl. The competition highlighted the integration of real-world elements like caustics and strategic lighting, enhancing the realism of digital images. Winning entries earned various prizes, including software licenses and educational opportunities in rendering techniques.
The gel capsules are immaculately rendered, with imperfections on the capsule skin as well as bubbles on the inside that all contribute to some phenomenal caustics.
The lighting is simple and effective - a single source of light, either shining onto the capsules or behind the capsule container, really does the trick, giving the render its gorgeous appeal.
These winners stood apart for their use of real-world settings like caustics and transparency, coupled with KeyShot 2025's latest Planar Lighting feature that makes setting up a scene quicker than saying the phrase 'Photorealism Challenge!'
Winners of the competition received prizes including a one-year license to KeyShot Studio Pro and an opportunity for featured display on the startup page of the software.
