The Global Ability Photography Challenge, organized by Youth4Jobs, celebrates the creativity and storytelling ability of photographers with disabilities. This year's competition featured 320 entries from 14 countries, emphasizing the distinctive narratives they convey. Judge Vicky Roy noted that disabled individuals provide insights and stories that are often overlooked. Among the eight winners were participants with various disabilities whose works reflect emotional depth and a strong connection to their subjects, such as a boy balancing on a rope to support his family, highlighting both resilience and creativity.
"Persons with disabilities not only narrate stories differently because of their lived experiences, but they also have access to stories beyond the reach of non-disabled individuals."
"Seeing the young boy perform by the side of the Atal pedestrian bridge in Ahmedabad, I was struck by his hardship he was performing a risky act to help his family."
