Charlie Tanfield fails to break Filippo Ganna's UCI Hour Record
Briefly

Charlie Tanfield attempted to break the UCI Hour Record on the Konya velodrome in Turkey but fell short, covering 53.967km. The record was previously set by Filippo Ganna at 56.792km. Tanfield’s strategy involved starting below the record pace with plans to accelerate during the final 20 minutes. However, he struggled to exceed a speed of 54.500km/h in the closing moments. Earlier in the day, Will Bjergfelt set a new C5 UCI Hour Record at 51.471km. Matt Richardson plans to attempt the Men's 200m flying start record later today.
