Mass. shelter asks for help after surrender of 52 cats from 'well-intentioned' resident
Briefly

Second Chance Animal Services in Massachusetts is appealing for support after receiving 52 cats from a local resident who faced medical challenges. Originally prepared for 22 cats, the shelter now has an extensive case load due to the unexpected influx. Over $3,000 has already been donated to cover medical and feeding expenses, which are anticipated to exceed $18,000. The cats, while not spayed or vaccinated upon arrival, showed signs of prior care and affection, with some already eligible for adoption.
We're asking for the community's support to defray this large expense and also, once they are ready for adoption, to adopt these wonderful cats.
While we'd initially prepared to accept 22 cats and kittens, the final tally included 30 more, an extremely large amount for our adoption center.
