Following the deaths of Gene Hackman and Betsy Arakawa, their two dogs, Bear and Nikita, were rehomed. Joey Padilla of Santa Fe Tails confirmed the transition, stating that stringent efforts were made to find suitable new homes for the dogs. One dog was sent out of state while the other remained locally. Both dogs are reportedly safe and healthy, adjusting well to their new environments. Concerns from the public regarding the dogs' wellbeing were addressed by the estate representative, offering assurance about their conditions.
It is with great joy that, with the consent of the estate attorney, I and my staff at Santa Fe Tails have successfully found homes for the Hackmans' surviving dogs, Bear and Nikita.
Both Bear and Nikita have been placed in appropriate homes. Both are safe, healthy and adjusting to their new environments.
