East Bay pets of the week for March 13
"With my long, flowing coat and regal presence, people say I look like a little lion and I carry myself like one too. Calm, dignified and quietly affectionate, I enjoy gentle companionship and peaceful moments. Soft voices, cozy spots and a place to stretch out in all my majestic fluff are my kind of day."
"Poppet can be a little shy and standoffish at first, but with a soft voice and a gentle touch, she quickly blossoms. Once she feels safe, she's incredibly sweet rubbing all over you, giving affectionate head bumps, and purring with contentment. She also loves to play and has a fun, kittenish side that shines through once she's comfortable."
Multiple East Bay area animal shelters showcase available pets for adoption. Aslan, a long-haired cat at Berkeley-East Bay Humane Society, is calm and dignified, seeking peaceful companionship. Poppet, a one-year-old calico at East Bay SPCA, is initially shy but becomes affectionate and playful once comfortable. Moira, featured by Friends of the Alameda Animal Shelter, enjoys belly rubs. Hope is available through Community Concern for Cats, and Hamilton through Milo Point Richmond. Each shelter provides adoption services with specific hours and contact information for interested adopters.
