Lambwood Heights Care Home celebrated Children's Day with a dinosaur-themed event, delighting residents and their families. Life-sized dinosaur puppets, costumed staff, and a T-Rex entertained attendees. Activities included puppet shows, face painting, a chocolate egg hunt, and plenty of laughter. Both residents and children enjoyed the vibrant atmosphere, showcasing the positive impact of intergenerational engagement. Manager Luciana Dobos emphasized that through such events, care homes can be perceived as joyful and fun places. The event also fostered community connection, with plans to extend such activities in the future.
Ms Dobos said the day was "full of laughter". She added: "The dinosaurs were a visual spectacle and being able to touch them made it a full sensory experience; one we'll be talking about for a long time to come."
Resident Lesley Friedman was thrilled by the puppets, stating: "The dinosaurs were lovely and a joy to see. I had a lovely time seeing all the children smiling."
