As the Pompidou museum prepares for renovation, architects conceived the Soft Palace, a nomadic embassy hosting art, events, and discussions at varying public spaces, starting with the Grand Palais. This installation is designed to create an intimate environment where visitors can participate actively or retreat for solitude, embodying the concept of a 'soft' palace. It merges artistic presentations with personal space, encouraging a collective, participatory choreography among attendees. The Soft Palace is part of the Fun Palace initiative, which includes various artistic and design collaborations.
The Soft Palace is a vast textile surface, inviting visitors to explore its creases and folds, turning every pocket into a personal space of intimacy.
We envisioned the Soft Palace as a multifunctional venue for assembly, art, and personal reflection during the Pompidou’s renovation.
