The CDG Express, a direct rail link between Paris' Charles de Gaulle airport and the city center, is 80% complete and expected to fully open by March 28, 2027. Director Michel Etchegaray reported that civil engineering work is finished and key infrastructure at Gare de l'Est and the airport is ready for service. The initial train operations will start in autumn 2026, and trains are planned to run every 20 minutes. This project aims to enhance public transport connections to Paris’ airports, following improvements to Orly Airport access.
With 80% of the work now completed, we're very confident about the commissioning date. All civil engineering has been completed. They're just waiting for the trains and passengers to arrive.
Trains will begin running on the new direct route from autumn 2026, with full service expected to be up and running from March 2027.
