Inspiring' Teddington mum who inspired three children to volunteer with RNLI
Briefly

Jan Lowe, a dedicated RNLI lifeboat volunteer in Teddington for three years, has encouraged her three children—Anna, Tom, and Dan—to join her in volunteering at the same station. The family’s commitment to the RNLI coincides with the children pursuing the Duke of Edinburgh Award. Their mother’s efforts have shown them the significance of community service, with locally recognized appreciation from Lifeboat Operations Manager Matt Allchurch, acknowledging the vital role both mothers and families play in volunteer initiatives.
I am so proud of my three children and the way that they have embraced the RNLI and its values. It's yellow wellies all round in the Lowe household.
Watching Mum go out whenever her pager goes off has made me think about how important the RNLI is to those who live near the river.
Mother's Day is an opportunity to thank not only the mums who volunteer with us, but also their families. It is a privilege to welcome those families to be part of our crew.
Tom described his mother as an inspiration, highlighting the profound impact her volunteer work has had on him and his siblings.
