I'm a single mom to 3 teens, and I have no idea what I'm doing
Briefly

As a single mother of three teenagers, I’ve transitioned from a rules-based parenting style to a more hands-off approach. Previously, teaching life rules was straightforward. Now, I’m learning to give my kids space to develop independence. I realize that micromanaging doesn’t help them prepare for adulthood. Encouraging them to learn how to ask for help and to manage their responsibilities is crucial as they prepare for the future. This new phase of parenting is challenging, but I'm committed to supporting them without taking over their lives.
I'm trying to be more like a coach and less like a manager.
The rule-based parenting that helped me run a tight ship when they were small doesn't cut it any longer.
