Baby bears are 'ready to take on the world.' See them leave dens under CA homes
Briefly

Mama bears and their cubs are surfacing from their winter denning spaces in California, ready to explore their environment. The BEAR League has documented this transition with cameras, showcasing the heartwarming moments between mother bears and their cubs. Sugar Bear and her cub Snowflake were the first family to officially leave their den, marking an important milestone in their lives. The organization shared a video capturing their last moments in the den, highlighting the bond and preparation that took place during winter, as Sugar Bear equipped Snowflake for the challenges ahead.
Last evening, at about 9pm, Sugar Bear and Snowflake walked off into the darkness of the night together. They left the natal den where Snowflake was born in mid-January.
Snowflake was wound up and ready to 'take on the world.' Sugar Bear would have preferred a few more days to work on his climbing skills.
Please enjoy the footage of their final moments with us. And then the touching recap of the past two and a half months - as Sugar Bear prepared Snowflake for this enormous, exciting, but extremely dangerous next chapter.
The BEAR League set up cameras in the nurseries to monitor the three families, showcasing the nurturing bond between mothers and their cubs.
